Privacy Policy
RigX is an online garage for trucks, bikes and ATVs, currently in beta. This policy explains what we collect when you visit rigx.app, join the waitlist or open a published garage, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect very little, we never sell it, and you can have it removed.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address.
- Anything you choose to add: what you drive, and where you heard about RigX.
- The tag on the link you followed, if it had one (for example a tag naming a forum post), so we know which posts people found useful.
- The date and time you signed up, and the version of the consent text you agreed to.
To stop abuse
To limit repeated sign-ups and password guesses, we keep a one-way, scrambled code made from your network address and the day's date. It can't be turned back into your address, and it's deleted after one day.
When you view a garage
Garage pages show what their owner chose to publish. Photos are published without their location or camera details, and licence plates are blurred. Costs, receipts and documents are encrypted and can only be opened with the owner's password.
What we don't collect
No names, phone numbers, payment details or precise location. No advertising or analytics trackers, and no cookies.
Storage in your browser
The site keeps a few small things in your own browser, not on our servers: display preferences (for example, whether the 3D truck spins), and, if you unlock a garage, the key and a 12-hour pass for that browser tab. You can clear them at any time in your browser's settings.
How we use it
- To email you when RigX opens to you, and perhaps once with a short question about what you'd want from it.
- To understand demand: how many people signed up, what they drive and where they found us.
- To keep the site working and protect it from abuse.
We don't sell your information, rent it, or share it for advertising.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the waitlist. Like any web host, it processes your network address to deliver pages; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a waitlist sign-up comes from a person and not a bot. When you sign up, your browser runs Cloudflare's check, which looks at technical signals from your browser and device; we receive only a pass or fail, never those signals.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits so we can see how many people come and which pages they read. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites or build a profile of you; we see only totals, such as page views, countries and the kind of device.
- Fontshare and Google Fonts deliver the site's typefaces, so your browser contacts them when a page loads.
- Trail maps use OpenStreetMap data and public elevation data. Nothing about you is sent to them.
How long we keep it
Waitlist details are kept until RigX has opened to you and you've decided whether to stay, or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first. Abuse-prevention codes are deleted after one day.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to remove your email from the waitlist at any time, and ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, by writing to [email protected] or replying to any email we send. Depending on where you live (for example California, under the CCPA, or the EU and UK, under the GDPR), you may have further rights to access, correct or delete your information, and we'll honour them.
Children
RigX isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, write to [email protected] and we'll delete it.
Security
Pages are served over an encrypted connection. Private garage records are encrypted before they're published, and the password check runs on our host with a limit on wrong tries. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
